Required permissions for application installation
The Windows user account used to install ApexSQL Restore must have Windows administrator permissions.
Required permissions for application installation
A Windows user account used to run ApexSQL Restore must have the following permissions:
- Windows permissions:
- Windows administrator
- SQL Server permissions:
- CREATE DATABASE or be a member of the sysadmin or dbcreator fixed SQL Server role
Additional permissions required for restoring a database backup from a network path
ApexSQL Restore supports restoring a database backup from a network path. The following additional permissions are required:
- Windows permissions:
- Login credentials for a Windows user account with the Read access permission to the remote path where the backup file is stored
- SQL Server permissions:
- Access to the remote path where the backup file is stored
