Recovering corrupted database

ApexSQL Recover 2008.06.0838 and below

SUMMARY

This article describes how to recover a corrupted database when only a detached MDF file and a database backup are available , and the online database is completely corrupted.
Note: ApexSQL Recover supports recovery of BLOB values from database files (online, detached and database backups) only. Recovery of BLOB values from transaction log files is not supported yet.

DESCRIPTION
1. Open ApexSQL Recover and point to your SQL Server:


2. Select the ‘Recover from corrupted database or detached mdf’ recovery option


3. Specify that there isn’t an older, online database available:


4. Add the detached MDF database file and its backup:


5. Specify the tables you want to recover:


6. Specify the path for the recovery script and generate it by clicking ‘Finish’:


7. Open the generated recovery script and review its contents to verify it contains the required data:
